Easy Banana Bread for the Lazy Quarantiner
So a big trend that I’ve seen people taking up during this quarantine is baking. Specifically, banana bread. I for one am in love with banana bread. Especially when I have a full jar of Nutella to spread on top.
It is honestly the easiest recipe I’ve ever made. And I can’t take credit for it. I first found this recipe as a kid in college, with barely enough money to get by. I wanted to make banana bread but didn’t really want to buy flour, sugar, you know the works. So in my search for simplicity I stumbled upon a THREE INGREDIENT banana bread that sounded promising.
All it took was a boxed cake, eggs, and bananas.
WHAT you may be asking? Yes, that’s it. And let me tell you that banana bread slaps.
Again, all you need is:
1 Betty Crocker Super Moist Favorites Butter Recipe Yellow Cake Mix
2 Eggs
3 Overripe Bananas
The steps to make this bad boy are super easy, and I’m going to list them out here for you. If you want it directly from the source, here is the link to the OG genius.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Mash up the bananas in a big bowl
- Add in the cake mix and eggs, mix to combine
- Grease a bread pan
- Pour the mix into the pan and throw it in the oven (I went for the middle rack, pretty safe bet)
- For me, I use a glass pan and it takes 40-50 minutes for it to bake
- If you’re worried about burning your bread, give it 30 minutes and start checking the consistency with a cake tester or a toothpick. If there’s a lot of wet residue from the cake, check it in 10 minutes
- When you get to a point that it’s only a little bit of residue, check every 5 minutes until your tool of choice comes back clean
All done! Enjoy this sick and easy banana bread with your fellow quarantine buds. It’s easy, fun, and absolutely delicious. Especially with Nutella.
