Inspiration

Quarantine has been HARD. It’s a long, awful, and seemingly unending time in our lives. In order to combat some of the negative feelings that quarantine is causing, here are 7 inspiring quotes that I found helpful. Hopefully you do too! And if you’re looking for some fun at-home activities take a look at my post 25 Things To Do When You’re Stuck At Home

1. “A caterpillar must endure a season of isolation before it turns into a butterfly. Embrace the time you have alone, it will only make you stronger.” – Steven Aitchison

This quote hit me. I have been feeling pretty down and lonely (despite living with my boyfriend). It’s been triggering my depression to the point where I will lay in bed all afternoon and sleep just to wake up to eat. BUT it doesn’t last forever. I wake up feeling well rested, ready to eat and spend quality time with my love. Isolation can hurt, but it will not last and everything will be okay.

2. “Loneliness allows your soul room to grow.” – Janet Fitch

Oddly through my bouts with depression during this quarantine, I have learned more about myself than I believe I would have normally. Being separated from friends and family is a horrible feeling, but it also lets you spend more time focusing on yourself, your goals, and your passions.

3. “Hold company with yourself so sacred that even when you are alone you feel whole.” -AVA.

I LOVED this quote. I found it while searching for inspiration, and I vibed with it. We each have a spark inside us that is unique, and we need to value that about ourselves. Self love is hard, but trying to feel comfortable alone with yourself is a great step to embracing that love.

4. “When we meet real tragedy in life, we can react in two ways – either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits, or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.” – Dalai Lama

This pandemic has been a tragedy. THIS is the time to find that inner strength. If you’ve been struggling with your mental health, then persevering through this IS finding your inner strength. Been trying to start your own business? Spending this time researching your field and learning about how you would operate is a great step in the right direction. Challenge yourself, even if it’s as small as getting out of bed in the morning and saying something positive about yourself. That could be everything.

5. “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou

This temporary quarantine will not reduce us. If anything, being farther apart is bringing us closer together. This is the time to feel confident in the steps that have been taken to protect our communities and being proud of one another for surviving.

6. “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.” – Diane Mariechild

This spoke to my inner goddess. Reading this quote I just felt the strength that I needed, and I hope reading it you felt that too. You are powerful, and this pandemic will not diminish your power.

7. “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” – Socrates

The world after this pandemic is going to be different. We have to look at it as a positive thing. The fact that we have the technology and knowledge to understand what will prevent future deaths from this virus is a blessing. We will rebuild from this, and the world will heal.
